True Blood creator Alan Ball has revealed that he is unsure about introducing the character of Bubba into the HBO drama.
In the original novels by Charlaine Harris, 'Bubba' is a vampiric Elvis Presley. During the True Blood panel at Comic-Con, Ball explained that he was uncertain if the character would work on television. He also admitted that he was hesitant to have an actor impersonate Elvis.
When fans in the audience shouted actor Bruce Campbell's name at Ball, he reportedly smiled and replied, "Bruce Campbell, huh?"
Campbell previously played an aged version of Elvis in the 2002 comedy horror Bubba Ho-Tep.
It was recently announced that the USA network had ordered a Burn Notice prequel film starring Campbell as his character Sam Axe.
When I logged on to check today it seems that someone had defaced the website with some turkish gibberish, assuming this isn't about that case of mistaken identity ( ), this was a silly act of defacing the site.
As far as I can see a very silly script I'd copied up to combat being banned from imageshack was exploited and the hacker uploaded a public / free script disguised as an image and then executed it.
I've checked some logs and am currently investigating any damaga. In the meantime, I've scrubbed the installs and checked out the site a fresh from svn.
I accidentally forgot to copy some templates across on the website portal, so that was the 500 error you were seeing... i was dragged into a meeting at work.
DEXTER: Peter Weller (ROBOCOP has joined the cast of the upcoming fifth season of Showtime’s DEXTER. Weller will be playing a troubled Miami Metro police officer caught up in an internal affairs investigation, and will appear in eight of the twelve episodes. SUSPIRIA remake: Marco Morabito spoke to Italian press recently and addressed the remake of Dario Argento's SUSPIRIA, a project announced with director David Gordon Green. According to the producer, Argento himself has signed off on the rights to allow the picture to happen. And even though Green has been courted with many other film offers, it looks like shooting will begin in early 2011.
But for those following the progress of the redo, they know the start date is a fickle one as, in 2009, another producer, Luca Guadagnino, said shooting would take place this year. Green has YOUR HIGNESS hitting theaters later this year. And no, Marilyn Manson, says Morabito, is not going to appear in SUSPIRIA a if it ever happens. (thanks to ShockTillYouDrop.com)
Truth be told I'm not a big fan of Scream, never have been and likely never will be. However, seems there's something of a exodus from Wes Craven's reboot as several key cast members have decided to back out of the movie.

On 26 August 2010 Eureka will issue Freddie Francis' Paranoiac (1963) on DVD and Blu-ray, marking the first Hammer movie to make the transition to Blu-ray and hopefully the first of a package of other Hammer titles heading this way from Eureka.

Since Ghost of Mars (all the way back in 2001), there have been a lot of announcements about John Carpenter directing this or that film, many of which still haven't materialized. But hopefully that won't be the case for Fangland, which Carpenter will direct based on a Mark Wheaton script, adapted from the novel by John Marks. It's a shame Carpenter doesn't write his own stuff anymore, but 1998's Vampires was also based on a book, and while it's not exactly one of his best films, it IS one of his most successful (apart from the mega-budget dud Escape From LA, it was his highest grossing film since 1984's Starman), so hopefully he'll find the same success here. And with The Ward in the final stages of post production, this could mean back to back Carpenter films for the first time since the mid 90s! Read on for a few story details, courtesy of Variety.

John Carpenter has signed on to direct "Fangland," an updated version of Bram Stoker's Dracula set up with DAS Films and Blumhouse Prods.
Sriram Das and Jason Blum are producing. Tracy Underwood's also involved in a producing capacity.
"Fangland" is based on the 2007 novel by former "60 Minutes" producer John Marks. It's centered on a New York-based producer who travels to Romania for an interview with a notorious European arms dealer, who turns out to be a modern-day Dracula.
Sounds pretty cool. Now they just need to get Dean Cundey to shoot the film, and Kurt Russell to play the vampire! I WANT MY OLD-SCHOOL CARPENTER BACK.
THE LOST BOYS 3 THE THIRST: Probably the only good thing coming out of this sequel will be the casting of the gorgeous South African model turned actress Tanit Phoenix. Here's what she had to say in a recent interview: "What I found very interesting about the Lost Boys script was that it showcases vampires how they really are, blood-sucking and evil, which somewhat dances around the fact that TWILIGHT made their vampires seem beautiful, but they really are not."
As for working with Corey Feldman, who is reprising his role as vampire hunter Edgar Frog in the film, Phoenix opined, "Corey is very sweet. He takes his work seriously. But he is just a big kid!" When asked if maybe her character, Gwen Lieber, a wealthy vampire-romance novelist, ends up a little bruised and battered in her dealings with Frog, she laughed and said, "I wanted to play a bad girl, and I finally got my chance, [but] the most physical I got was getting into skimpy outfits." Hollywood actor Dennis Hopper has died at the age of 74 following a battle with prostate cancer.
Known for such cult classics as Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now and Blue Velvet, Hopper embodied the image of the Hollywood icon.
Hopper died on Saturday morning surrounded by friends and family at his home in Venice, California.
He was last seen in public in March when he was honoured with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
"Dennis Hopper died this morning at 8:15 am from complications of metastasised prostate cancer. He died at home in Venice surrounded by family and friends," manager Sam Maydew said in a statement.
Hopper directed the 1969 counter-culture road movie Easy Rider, which he co-wrote with and starred alongside Peter Fonda. The pair were nominated for a best screenplay Academy Award.
"Dennis introduced me to the world of Pop Art and 'lost' films. We rode the highways of America and changed the way movies were made in Hollywood. I was blessed by his passion and friendship," Fonda told the TMZ website following Hopper's death.
Following a promising start to his career, with a role in James Dean's Rebel Without a Cause, Hopper developed a reputation as a hell-raiser with a penchant for drink and drugs.
Following his success with Easy Rider, and the disastrous The Last Movie, his on-set clashes with directors and fellow actors saw him effectively blacklisted by Hollywood.
It took nearly 10 years for Hopper to win back starring roles, with his critically acclaimed role in David Lynch's Blue Velvet marking a turning point in his career, although his personal life remained turbulent.
Wed five times, his final marriage, to Victoria Duffy, turned into an acrimonious split in 2010 when she accused his family of trying to cut her out of his life.
In April a judge ruled that Duffy, who shared a young daughter with Hopper, could remain at the marital home.
It was during the court hearings that it was revealed Hopper was terminally ill with prostate cancer, following his diagnosis last year.

Oh the surprises of Cannes -- and this one is a doozy. Get ready for Deep Red in 3D -- not by Dario Argento but from zombie icon George A. Romero. Word has it that Romero is in advanced negotiations to helm a completely unnecessary stereoscopic remake in English of Argento's cult classic. The 1975 masterpiece Deep Red, about a string of supernatural splatter murders, is considered Argento's gem giallo and the film that established his international standing. Claudio Argento, who is Dario's brother and regular producer, has penned the screenplay for Romero's redo. Plan is to start shooting this fall in Canada. Though Dario Argento and George Romero go back a long way -- he collaborated with Romero on zombie classic Dawn of the Dead, on which he has producer credit, and they also co-directed Two Evil Eyes in 1990 -- Dario Argento will not be involved in Romero's remake in any guise. This news makes me a little sick to my stomach, you?
