22.02.09 - People Under The Stairs Remake
https://www.filmjunk.com/images/weblog/peopleunderthestairssequel.jpg

Maybe that black kid will slip off the roof into the jagged rocks this time? Googley clown
Quote:
THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS: Another project still alive and well is Wes Craven's remake of THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, which they're close to signing a director. "The script is looking very promising," explaining that whomever directs the movie will decide what type of tone the remake will have. "We’ll find the director and see his or her take on it really.” Both this and SHOCKER remakes are still over at Universal Pictures.

Title: if there is no room in hell the remakes will walk
Comment:

Why do they want to remake this? I don't get it.
The original was a nice movie with great atmosphere.

Do they think they can make better looking people, who live under the stairs and feel the need to prove something?
I seriously can't see why this has to be shot again. I mean the director was Wes Craven, and that's not just somebody.

What's the source for this news?

Comment:

there's two options, Craven has thought of a revolutionary idea or alternatively, he
always intended there to be imperial storm troopers and dewbacks in the background
but never had the technology..
