Here's some upcoming movies (to western markets) during 2008 that will certainly be worth keeping an eye out for.
The list is pretty meaty so read on after the break...
Big Budget Pomp
These are the sequels and big budget hookey that you may want to keep an eye on over the coming year.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
The new Indiana Jones flick. Currently there are no trailers and just worries about Harrison Ford's age and the ability of the team to pull off a half decent flick.
Batman and James Gordon join forces with Gotham's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known as The Joker, whilst other forces plot against them, and Joker's crimes grow more and more deadly.
The new Batman movie. if this is even half as good as Batman Begins this should be a great film to watch out for
Giant monster attack, "Blair Witch"-style.
Even though Blair Witch was terrible, the concept here should be entertaining if nothing else.
These are a selection of movies to watch out for that are new, fresh or just surprising.
Charleston & Vendetta
Serbia in the 1920s, after The First World War - a beautiful, brutal land, suspended between East and West, between ancient magic and the forces of civilization. High in the mountains of this mysterious, battle-scarred country lays the village of Pokrp, whose men folk have been eradicated by generations of war. A village of lovelorn women, starving for men. When sisters Little Boginja and Ognjenka inadvertently kill Pokrp’s sole surviving male, a death sentence at the hands of the womenfolk seems certain. But they are granted a reprieve, on the condition that they find a living, virile man and bring him back to the village. Under the watchful eye of their grandmother’s soul, the feisty but innocent pair set out into the big, wide world. Lust, love, a hot-headed strongman and Belgrade’s lecherous dance hall king await them…
Just watch the trailer below and tell me if you don't feel excited about this upcoming movie! A very promising Serbian production.
Diary of the Dead
A group of young film students run into real-life zombies while filming a horror movie of their own.
The story recounts the early life of Genghis Khan who was a slave before going on to conquer half the world including Russia in 1206.
Russia wowed everyone recently with high quality, big budget productions like Night Watch and has been churning out great modern films at a steady pace. This one is definitely one to keep an eye on when it hits western screens this year.
The year is 2700. WALL*E, a robot, spends every day doing what he was made for. But soon, he will discover what he was meant for.
Pixar movies are always great...
