Nympha tells the story of Sarah, (played by the busy Tiffany Shepis (Abominable)) a young American girl who travels to Italy to become part of the New Order Convent of nuns. The New Order’s strict rules are torturous, and Sarah must complete four challenging steps—“hear” the Lord, “see” the Lord, “touch” the Lord and “talk with” the Lord—in order to be accepted.
“Each step will be painful for both Sarah’s physical and mental self, moreover, during Sarah’s journey, she often has visions of the convent’s past—visions that it was the house of a young girl named Ninfa. Ninfa’s life was ruined by the religious fanaticism of her violent grandfather Geremia, who believed that he could talk directly with God. In reality, he was utterly mad, and this madness seems to be present today, within the walls of the convent where young Sarah lives.” The cast also includes Allan McKenna as Geremia, Caroline DeCristofaro as Ninfa, Michael Segal as Marco, Alessandra Guerzoni as the Mother Superior, Francesco Primavera, Giuseppe Gobbato and Caterina Zanca and Federico D’Anneo.
NYMPHA will be shot in English on hi-def video; lensing is set to begin in September 2006, with release tentatively slated for winter 2007.
